| Our Philosophy | |
| Children learn by hands-on experience and by interacting with the environment, peers, and teachers. Teachers are facilitators in the learning environment. The role of the teacher is to guide and stimulate learning. Our most important goal is to help children become enthusiastic learners. This means encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts. We try to help children become independent, self-confident, and inquisitive learners. We allow them to learn at their own pace and in ways that are best for them. We prepare the children to make the transition into Kindergarten but do not teach them the skills that they will learn in Kindergarten. We expose the children to a lot of concepts but never expect mastery of any of them. Children who are given plenty of time to play learn to ask their own questions and figure out their own answers. They see themselves as explorers, discoverers, problem solvers and inventors. | |
